BERCE is an ambitious programme that aims to encourage any researcher potentially interested in submitting a project to the ERC to consider the UDC as a possible host institution.
While it is true that the programme is open to all scientific researchers from all over the world, due to its geographical position and cultural tradition, it is true that Iberian and Latin American researchers are the main target audience of this initiative. In its Statutes, the UDC establishes that it will facilitate full integration into the European space and expand into Latin America./
In accordance with this approach, and in agreement with the very name of this programme (the welcome, stabilisation and return of excellent science), there are three main action guidelines:

Special attention is given to researchers from Latin America who want to apply for and develop their ERC Grant in any of its modalities with the UDC.

BENEFITING FROM AN ERC GRANT
In accordance with the Oportunius Programme promoted by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) of the Xunta de Galicia.
RETURN OF
EXCELLENT GALICIAN TALENT
This applies to any Galician researchers currently carrying out their research activity abroad and wishes to return to Galicia to continue their scientific career.
